Running with Scissors

Hi its me Matt, I just finished Running with Scissors a few weeks ago and now it is one of my favorite books of all time. Running with Scissors is a funny memoir by Augusten Burroughs about his life when he was a teenager and how his mother a poet, who in the book is describe as having "wild mental imbalance" leaves the teenage Burroughs to live with Dr.Finch (his mothers crazy shrink) when his parents are in the middle of a divorce and his mother comes out as a lesbian. While life in the Finch household is wild with no limits, Burroughs describes how he becomes accustomed to life with the Finches, and how his mother goes through psychotic episodes through out his teenage life. Running with Scissors is full Burroughs experiences with the Finches and of the wild life style the finches lead which he integrates into through out the book. I highly recommend this book to most people, though this book is for mature readers as most parts of the book are X-rated. But this memoir is written excellently with a great writing style, and sense of humor I highly recommend that people read Running with Scissors as it is truly a terrific book.
