The Seamstress

Hi it’s me Matt, here is another book I suggest people read, and it is called The Seamstress. The Seamstress by Sara Tuvel Bernstein is a Holocaust memoir about a Romanian Jew who was born into a large family in rural Romania between the World Wars. The author recounts the growing shadow of the building Fascist movement, the Iron Guard, a and the rising tide of anti-Semitic laws, and finally the open persecution of Romania's Jews. Then after a series of incidents that range from dramatic escapes, and a year in a forced labor detachment, the author talks of how she ends up in Ravensbruck, a women's concentration camp deep in the wilderness of Germany, with diabolical conditions within the camp. The author talks of how with her sister, and two friends join together and how largely due to the authors street smarts and intuition, managed to survive the Holocaust. This memoir is exceptionally written with a great writing style, and tells the author's story of survival of the Holocaust excellently.
